Purpose
If you do not know your purpose, you can’t have a vision for
your life. Without vision, you will never reach your destiny.
But when you clearly understand your purpose, you automatically
begin to have vision. When you have a vision for your future,
you can work toward living your destiny. This is how you begin
living a progress forward life.
We must step up both individually and collectively as a society,
and grasp these principals, in order to be able to evolve as a
society. The rest of the world is advancing rapidly ahead of us
socially, economically, and academically. Avoiding our problems
internally or within, will hold us back from advancing as we
should. |

The Path to
Discovering Your Purpose
Knowing your purpose means knowing who you are. Do you work as
an accountant, an administrative assistant, or a realtor? Job
roles are not your identity. This is what you do as a role, but
not who you are. How many of you are mothers or fathers? This is
not who you are. It is a what you are. Are you Catholic,
Baptist, Protestant, Christian, Agnostic, or an Atheist? This is
a what you are; perhaps it is who you are in some respect, but
not really who you are. Maybe you’re a golfer, a seamstress, a
homemaker, a gambler, a risk-taker, a diabetic, a cancer
survivor, obsessive compulsive, a person with illnesses or high
blood pressure. Maybe you’re stressed out, single, married,
lonely, the life of the party. Whether you’re broke,
wealthy, or in between, none of what I have described is who you
are. |

You are your purpose. Your identity lies in the truth of who you
are supposed to be. Your identity is discovered when you are
true to yourself, find clarity or learning about the truth of
who you are, and what the truth says you are supposed to be.
Some would say I guess I am supposed to be this way, when
confronted about being a perpetual liar, gambler, an alcoholic,
someone who is broke, or depressed. This is a lie.
Your identity is not necessarily what your family has said you
are, or even your family heritage or history. Is that part of
us? At least the family heritage and history is. And maybe your
family knows some truth about you. But you are not a label.
Identity is not a name; it is a phrase. I’m not talking about a
two timing loser as a phrase! How many of you would like that
label? Again, identity is not a label.
What is
Purpose?
